Christmas Baking and Making

Of course during the Holiday's we bake and bake. Make all kinds of goodies and treats to give away. This year we made lots of fun stuff. Grandma L. Took the kids for a day and baked gingerbread cookies and decorated them. That night the kids and Auntie Sarah finished decorating the rest of them:Nothing like sugar before bedtime!! They were good, nice chewy ones. They did a great job. The kids also have been helping me make lots and lots of Carmel popcorn. We have been giving bags and bags away to all their friends, neighbors, classmates, pre-school teachers, gym teachers, kindermusik teachers, daddy' co workers..and lots more! They love the stuff, and have been having fun giving them away!! Except a few times when Chloe wasn't really wanting to part with the goods. Cormac had to show her how to give them away. He loves to share and give presents. He is so sweet. Chloe is to young to realize..there is more Carmel popcorn at home!!
We of course made the traditional Gingerbread house too!! This years turned out MUCH better than last years "Foreclosure" looking gingerbread house. Click to see last years living in the ghetto version we did.Of course Chloe was trying to eat all the candy. I think she ate more than she put on. While Cormac would ask me first if he could eat any of the candy. We then over the course of the next two weeks...let them devour the candy on the gingerbread house. What fun it is to just look at..if you can't pick the candy off?! They had fun picking it apart here and there. I am sure they will grow up remembering eating it, than how pretty it just looked sitting on the counter. BORING!! We like to have fun around here!!
The other day, their cousin came over to play in the snow with them. After they came in, I gave them hot chocolate. It was cute to watch them talk, drink their hot cocoa, and pick at the house. I tried to get them to dip the trees in the hot cohocolate..but they weren't interested.
